Narrative Emphasis:
This graphic depicts the most commonly used words in the entire corpus; the largest being the most used. This speaks to what the main emphasis of the realist works chosen because "said" is the most common word used throughout*. This, along with the use of other commonly used narrative words, implies that the main method of communication used in these works is narration. The other narrative-associated words frequently used are me (1949 times), I (7702), he (5176), she (5407), her (4952), him (2097), they (1334), and them (1003); these add up to equal 29620 uses of these words throughout the entire corpus which accounts for 7.5% of the entire corpus.
